A tech publishing start-up is looking for a Ruby Developer to join them at this very exciting time. They focus on breaking the barrier between authors and readers by creating a platform where readers can provide their support to help books get published. This platform has been recognised and praised by some top publishing companies such as The Telegraph and The Financial Times.

The company was founded by 3 publishers looking to refresh the way traditional publishing works. It has now moved towards being a tech-focused funding platform.

The Role as Ruby Developer

As a Ruby Developer you will be developing usable, secure, scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails and JavaScript (JQuery). You will be working alongside an exciting range of people from publishing and tech, editors, designers, customer support, PR and co-founders all working collaboratively and innovatively together.

The Candidate

This exciting start-up is looking for the right person that has a passion to be involved within the publishing industry and enjoys developing high quality, testable code. You will need to be self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a time with a range of disciplines.

  • Ruby & Ruby on Rails
  • Integrating with third party services – E.g. databases, email, CRM, etc
  • Test-driven development using RSpec or similar
  • Relational databases
