Senior Digital Delivery Manager for Public Sector organisation in Central Manchester – £500 - £550 / day

The Client

A fascinating opportunity to be part of the largest digital transformation project in Europe in the management and leadership of a team of Agile digital project managers in designing a suite of innovative digital products. Working closely with digtial product managers and UX designers to help shape and drive the digital road map. They are looking for someone to get on board ASAP and it will be a 6 month+ contract.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and manage a team of Agile Delivery Managers including providing guidance, mentoring and training in agile delivery across the team;
  • Manage one or more agile projects, typically to deliver a specific product or transformation via a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled digital team;
  • Deliver projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently;
  • Defining project needs and feeding these into the programme/portfolio process;
  • Work with the Product Manager to define the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories;
  • Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process – prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team;
  • Matrix-managing a multidisciplinary team;
  • Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (alpha/beta/production);
  • Actively participating in the Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice.


Essential Experience

  • Experience as a Digital Delivery Manager at a Senior level, ideally within a public sector organisation;
  • Experience in the end to end delivery of digital projects and products;
  • Proven experience using agile project management methods;
  • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity;
  • Sound understanding of the digital landscape;
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams;
