Frontend Developer

Frontend Developer for Start-up company in Waterloo – Up to £70,000

You’ll be developing, integrating and supporting the web-based components of the overall solution and transforming their frontend development capability.

What will you be doing?

Although it is a frontend position there is still some variation to the position. As well as developing frontend functionality you’ll be contributing to the scoping and design of new software and supporting planning and estimating.

You’ll also be identifying and investigating defects in the systems and developing bug fixes, plus corresponding enhancements to the product. It will be down to you to improve code maintainability and supportability through code refactoring, peer review and other means.

They’re really big on using the latest tech so are open to you investigating new technologies. It is a challenging, supportive and fast moving working environment with the opportunity to learn about different technologies.

What do you need?

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience working in React. However, this isn’t a prerequisite. The most important thing is a real burning desire to learn and pick up new skills – so if you want to learn React this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

You will have worked in JavaScript, HTML and CSS before and any JavaScript frameworks would be a bonus, particularly Angular. They work with Python on the backend so any experience with that would be great, though not essential.

If you are a real team player then this is a great fit, they love people that can work together and are good communicators.

Benefits

They’re fairly open on salary and are willing to consider people from mid-level through to senior. One perk is the great pension scheme they have – 8%! They’re also offering childcare vouchers, a bike to work scheme, life insurance, critical illness cover and a bonus scheme that has paid out every year so far. They also have a very active social committee who have organised some pretty cool things over the years!
